II. Visualising & Interconnection

In the second phase of the workshop students brainstormed about what meant ‘heritage’ to them. The fact that Ahmedabad is called a heritage city was a starting point to think what constitutes heritage. With this in their mind, they started locating their own places of the city that they would like to share with the world. The idea was to know those places and spaces better, and create map books in the form of foldables that a visitor in the city would find useful. This would be their ways of interpreting heritage, both tangible and intangible, that often are overlooked.

The idea was to choose a context and use the learnt methods to unpack the stories by inter-connecting the dots. Various visualisation techniques were used to map the thought processes. They were introduced to different ways of shaping an idea, sculpt out stories from the mundane and think through the form of storytelling along with the story itself. Self- learning, peer feedback and co-creation were promoted to play with the forms.
